Watch the Recorded Session (It's Free):

Explore how to engage your science class in student-led scientific discourse with the help of three new tools that students can use to organize and communicate their thinking. In this 30-minute professional development workshop recording, we'll focus on how to use these tools to empower students as scientists and engineers and place them in charge of their own thoughts and discussion while you step into the observer role during scientific discourse.

In this interactive session we’ll learn:

  • strategies for involving all students in the discussion component of each lesson.
  • how to release independence so that students will own their voice in the discussion.
  • how to listen, observe, and formatively access students in discussion.

Learn how to use discourse preparation sheets to empower students as scientists and engineers, placing them in charge of their own thoughts and discussion
