Discover the basics of better questioning. In this 30-minute professional development workshop recording, we’ll discuss how to use KnowAtom’s Teacher Question Helper and KnowAtom’s Reading Questions to help your students extract the big ideas from non-fiction science reading.
We’ll focus on how to move away from a model of instruction where the teacher is answer-expert to focus on the next generation model of helping students navigate context, annotate, and distill key ideas through better instructional questioning. We’ll also use the lens of remote teaching to discuss how parents and caregivers can effectively engage with students during and after their reading.

FRANCIS VIGEANT K-6 and 9-12 Teacher & KnowAtom CEO Francis Vigeant has 17 years of teaching experience. Most recently he spent seven years teaching public school kindergarten through sixth-grade students science in Southern New Hampshire’s SAU 50.
