Science Shapes the Future

The KnowAtom Eighth Grade Science system explores the questions science still wants to answer. Students investigate current topics, including materials science, space exploration, climate change, and bioengineering. Eighth graders use the Scientific Method and Engineering Design Process to design their own experiments and hands-on prototypes. Laboratory notebooks are used to assess concept understanding and demonstrated process knowledge. Middle school science and Common Core Standards are grouped into 12 units that include relevant background information as well as project materials, student lab manuals, and support assessments.
